So imo the shatterproof screen is a big down side and a deal breaker. It’s a decent phone it self.

The screen is great for not breaking but it gets images burnt in very easy. And Moto Lenovo is horrible as a company for updates and keeping it’s customer in the know.

No bloatware issues, the phone does come with Mi preinstalled apps, but they’re useful, like the calendar, calculator, there’s a radio app, and it even comes preinstalled with a remote app which is great for people like me who have no idea where their TV remote is, double bonus, my husband’s note 8 doesn’t have an IR blaster.

All in all, I’m glad I took the chance with this phone. I was concerned about the the OS being an Android variant, but it actually runs very very fast and smooth.

I have a small semi circle radiating from the volume down button about a quarter inch out from the edge of the screen to the edge, and it’s about half an inch long.

A second half circle is beginning to form on the volume up contact point in the same manner. So now I have 2 half circle burns on the edge of my screen.

This phone is 4 months old. It’s never overcharged or overheated, and I don’t know why these contact points are over heating and they felt physically hot when the first one started forming, I could feel it on my phone screen.

I don’t know how to contact Mi, so I’ll adjust my rating if they contact me to sort this out. Otherwise, I’m not so sure I’d recommend this product now if the components are going to start over heating after days of owning.

It has the STD micro B USB, having invested a lot in micro B USB cables at home and in the cars, and having about 10 devices between all family members using this type of connection at home, I did not wanted to bring a new plug-in adapter incompatible with the rest that I have; don take me wrong a believe the new micro USB-C to be great, but I will wait a couple of years until becomes the true standard in the industry and I have no choice but to adopt it.

I do not have a tendency to overload my devices with useless applications, which I hardly use. The tablet screen aspect ratio is excellent for reading, and it is light weight, some reviewers have pointed out that the screen may be dim under certain conditions or the appearance of a yellowish color when the brightness is set too low.

It took me a couple of days to get accustom to it, but I realized that the soft tone is great for reading white pages at night with the lights off.

It is better to keep the price difference in your pocket, and change more often the devices. Since I have different brand name devices, I decided to use Google apps as much as possible, so there is a better synchronization and standardization across all devices that we own at home.

Asus launcher UI, there is something good for those who are not technically inclined, and a standard Android UI maybe overwhelming.
